Happy Work Week!
Nikki has decided to hijack my blog and write my 9-month work review!!! After all, she's my boss! (REALLY??? What do you guys think???)
Anyway, here she goes... (Nikki's report is in different color. I'd tell you what color, but you know dogs are color blind!)
Coral 9-Month Work Review
Overall Satisfaction: Very pleased!
House Manner: Excellent! Almost no accident - I say ALMOST because of 1 mystery discovery...
Guide Work: Usually very good
Coral's weakness: dog distraction (getting much, much better), missing upcurbs,
My weakness: sometimes try to use unusable vision
We need to work on walking with other people - others have hard time catching up with us! Also, people give direction and warn about obstacles too soon, which makes me nervous and confuses Coral.
Always a challenge: Where to sit on the crowded bus/trolley
Fun in Guide Work: Escalator
New Vocabrary: Office, Milk, Trolley, Show me ..., Let's go home, etc. She may recognize store names such as Target too!
Considering the working years of a guide dog team, we are still newbies and trying to learn from each other. There are good days and not so good days. However, overall, I'm very happy with my decision to have a guide dog. With Coral, I travel smoother in various circumstances, and I am able to pay attention to what's around me instead of what's immediately in front of me. She is a very good friend and conversation starter as well! I am truly grateful to GDB for matching me with a great dog after a heartbreaking incident with Shelby.
Well, if she talked bad things about me, I was going to run her into a tree tomorrow, but Nikki gave a pretty good review of me! Makes me kind of fuzzy... Guess I'd better keep up a good work and get the kibbles coming!

WOW - what a good girl. YOU GO! Keep up the good work! :)
Love this post! So true ... Sounds like you are a great team, Nikki & Coral. Keep up the good work, Coral and more kibble will be coming!
Coral,
You really got a great review. I know Zane would have loved working with you. I can attest to how quickly Nikki and her guide work. I might call you guys, Super Team, faster than a speeding bullet!
With that good review, Coral, you should put in for a raise. Mayb another 1/2 cup per day or maybe some Halloween candy. What do you think?
Zane is ready to board the puppy truck to LA and be back with his first family this Friday. They are very excited to see him again. I'm happy for Zane, but I still miss him terribly.
I know he would send you his love.
Nikki, I like this 9 month review idea. I will do the same when I have a guide again. Zane failed in about 9 months. Ugh.
Lots of love, Richard
Sounds like a perfect team! Keep up the good work, Coral!
Thanks everyone!
We are not quite a perfect team yet, but will keep working on becoming PERFECT!!!
Zane, that's a great idea! How should I go about asking for a raise??? The reality is the opposit; Nikki just cut down my food to 2.5 cups/day... And yesterday, she had a nerve to forget my treat bag!!! Boooooo
Sounds like you're doing well, Coral. Mom is pleased with my work as well although last week, she was talking about sending me back to TSE. She was also worried about my traffic skills so called TSE this week. Everything is A-OK though.
Looks like a pretty darn good review, especially for the pair of you being together for less than a year! Coral, I'm glad you decided not to run Nikki into a tree after all ;)
Wow what a great report. I am so inspired to work hard so that I can be a service dog and follow in your paw steps. Only 9 months and you seem to be doing great. Just remember, walking human into tree, not good and no kibble, walking human around tree good and extra kibble.
your buddy
Irish
What a great girly. You keep being so wonderful, Coral!
And tell Nikki that I love this 9-month review. It's so neat to see how you're doing after being together 9 months!!
