Little Pimp was Nikki's first puppy of her own. So she was very attached to him. However, his time in this world was very short; he crossed the Rainbow Bridge at only 5 months old. He had some kind of liver disease from birth, but the shelter didn't find it out before adopting. The vet said that was why he was at the shelter; the breeder probably knew all about his condition, and dropped him off without giving the details! Of course, Nikki really wanted to help Little Pimp, but it was beyond their financial means. It cost several hundreds to just to find out wehter it was curable, and if it was, another few thousands of dollars to do the operation! Even then there was no guarantee of him 100% being well. The decision was a very very hard and sad one.
They weren't going to get another dog for a long time. But the emptiness in the house was unbearable. Nikki was getting a guide dog, but who knows how long it would take!!! Then Greg found cute little puppies for sale on Craigslist. He emailed the lady, and she brought 2 pups to show. One was a frisky girl, and the other was a laid back boy. Yes, Banzai fooled Greg & Nikki!!! They got the boy, thinking he was gonna be all calm and relaxed!!! What were they thinking???
Because of what happened to Little Pimp, Nikki choose to go to GDB, who provides more assistance as far as vet care and other post-graduate services. She got accepted to go to the November class! YEAH!!!

Ha! We fell for that too! My stepsister wanted a laid-back puppy and got a little monster! That dog was a terror. On the other hand, I chose a more active puppy, and while she remains active, she is an awesome dog and not a terror like the other one.
