Actually Thanksgiving Day was her very first Dog Day, the day Nikki was introduced to Shelby.
Though they didn't come home as a working team, Shelby was the one who put up with Nikki when she knew nothing about handling a guide dog! She was the one who made such a strong impression of traveling with a guide dog vs. white cane! Shelby, I give it to you! Nikki still thinks highly of you! It might have been different if you were in top shape health wise... But things happen for a reason, and I'm sure you're ready to enjoy your Turkey Day with your family! Hey, you may actually get to have a piece!
They are talking about a Class 680 reunion! I hope it happens. I'd love to see people & dogs that Nikki always talks about.

I'm backa nd wanted to let you know I was reading your blog again. So, you weren't nikki's first guide? Did she get you after she couldn't work with shelby anymore?
I'm glad that you two worked out, and I hope our moms let us both have some turkey on thanksgiving!!

Shelby was her guide during the class in San Rafael. Something happened & she was career changed 2 days before the graduation! So Nikki came home without a dog last December. Nikki & I were matched up through in-home training last January. Talk about drama, huh!
Let's hope for the turkey!!!
I didn't even et turkey on Thanksgiving. Mom went to this really fancy restaurant and made me wear the gentle leader the whole time! Peter said I looked tragic, and he's right. I hate the gentle leader. Mom is so mean to me!
