Happy Work Day!!!
Who said weekend is to rest up for the coming busy work week??? Does this rule apply to guide dogs too?
Last Saturday, my dinner showed up at 5:00pm instead of 7:00pm!!! Wow! special weekend surprize:) Of course I enjoyed every bit of the kibbles. But I should have realized by now; early dinner means graveyard shit!!!
You know Nikki is an 80's baby. (OLD....) So Greg surprised her with Janet Jackson concert! The venue was across the street from the house, but I had to deal with weird traffic and lots of people kind of wondering around or suddenly jumping at my nose! There was only 1 entrance with a wheelchair ramp for Greg. And guess what! They block off the closest path to that entrance for the star's limo/equipment. So we had to go around the entire place to get to the ramp!!! Yeah, it meets the ADA requirement, but a fabulous workout before the show!
Although it's not her prime time anymore, Janet Jackson was still pretty good! Nikki attached a blinking light necklace to my harness handle, and people said it was cute:) Yes, cuteness rules!!! Anyway, everyone was getting excited & screaming & all; It was a bit too loud for me, but I was getting in the groove as well! Then this big bang-boom went off all the sudden!!! I was so scared that I thought my heart would jump out of my fur!!! No, it wasn't a terrorist attack or anything! It was the part of the show, but it was sooooo loud! Luckily Nikki took me outside right away. So I didn't have to sit through anticipating a heart attack or ear rip!
Well, I made Nikki miss maybe 1/4 of the show. Is it a bad thing??? I think it evens out because I could resume my guide work right away as soon as I came out of the loudness, and when Nikki commanded me to go back inside to look for Greg, I just did it without fighting...

Ah, can totally relate! Becky had me at the holiday bowl -- in San Diego last year (too bad we didn't know each other then) and there were fireworks after every touchdown. I climbed into her lap and so I left the game early so I would continue to work as a happy guide.
Hi Cricket,
You have to visit me when you come to San Diego this next time! Tell Becky to get in touch with Nikki before your trip! Love to play with Ya:)
